A CLASSIC KARAKORAM TREK BENEATH LAILA PEAK
Laila Peak rises above the Gondogoro Glacier with a striking spear-shaped summit. The base camp trek follows the Hushe Valley through traditional Balti villages, river corridors, wild camps and glacial landscapes.
This journey is designed for international travellers who want a serious mountain experience without attempting a technical summit. The route, pacing and camps are adjusted around weather, trail conditions and your group’s experience.
SUGGESTED 12-DAY JOURNEY
FROM ISLAMABAD TO THE GONDOGORO GLACIER
The final schedule remains flexible around domestic flights, road access, weather and local conditions.
DAYS 01–02
Airport welcome in Islamabad, trip briefing and onward travel to Skardu.
DAYS 03–04
Continue to Hushe village and begin the trek through the lower valley.
DAYS 05–06
Trek toward Saicho and Dalzampa through increasingly dramatic alpine terrain.
DAYS 07–08
Reach Laila Peak Base Camp and explore viewpoints near the Gondogoro Glacier.
DAYS 09–10
Descend through established camps toward Hushe with flexible weather time.
DAYS 11–12
Return to Skardu and Islamabad for your international departure.

FITNESS & PREPARATION
ARRIVE READY FOR THE KARAKORAM
Expect consecutive trekking days, rocky moraine, glacier-side trails, basic camps and rapidly changing weather. Regular hiking, cardiovascular training and experience carrying a daypack are strongly recommended. Travel insurance should cover trekking near 5,000 metres, emergency evacuation and trip disruption.
